Our Story

Born in 1935, C.H. (Hot) Thomas was born an entrepreneur. Raised in the farmlands of Oconee County, Hot row-cropped, grew cotton and grains, and ginned cotton. He raised cattle, was a welder, turkey farmer, hog farmer and who can forget the peaches. But of course, what Hot Thomas was most famous for was his BBQ. In the early 80’s the restaurant as it stands today was converted from a general store ran by his father, Jimmy, while still holding onto the unique atmosphere of the old time store. Hot’s is being managed by the Thomas family and continues in the traditions created by the legend Hot Thomas.
